Custom Cakes.
All of my cakes are custom made and require custom pricing. There are many different factors that determine the final cost of a cake - design, intricacy, and number of people you need to serve, just to name a few. Please keep in mind the amount of hours it takes to design/sketch, bake, assemble and decorate your cake. This process is extremely time-consuming! This is all factored into the price of your cake.
Most of the cakes you see featured on my website are made with fondant. I love to work with fondant because it gives a clean and finished look to cakes, and sculpting figures with it is much easier than with buttercream! Fondant is expensive! Some bakeries charge anywhere from $7 to $13 per serving for a cake covered in fondant! I try very hard to stay competitive and offer reasonable and fair prices to my clients. But when you want things sculpted, 3-dimensional, or carved...it's going to cost you more, because it costs me more.
Ordering a cake from The Cake Nerd guarantees that your cake will be one-of-a-kind! I am a legal cottage food business operating under Texas Senate Bill 81. Your custom cake creation will be baked and decorated in my home kitchen. I am self-taught, and my cakes do have a homemade look to them. If you're looking for a cake that is tailored to your whims, you've come to the right place!
Designing and building a custom cake means that pricing varies for each client. Cake prices begin at $3.00 a serving for my buttercream cakes and $5.00 a serving for my fondant-covered/sculpted cakes, but may increase as the complexities of your cake design is realized. For example, if you want a fondant-covered cake to feed 50 people with sculpted animals, gum paste flowers or other 3D work, expect to pay a minimum of $250.00. If you need a buttercream cake to feed 30 people, it will be a minimum of $90.00. My per serving price is not negotiable. Please respect the time, skills and artistry that goes into making your one-of-a-kind cake. Afterall, you didn't come to me to make a cake that the big box stores can do, now did you? I require a deposit of 50% at the time you place your order. The remainder is due the day you receive your cake.
I charge a $10 delivery fee for deliveries inside Cypress City limits. Outside of Cypress I charge $0.565 a mile round trip (using Mapquest for reference). I have Ninja-like cake delivery skills and I recommend letting me deliver your cake to you. Maneuvering around Houston-area potholes and knucklehead drivers is my specialty!
Copyright and Trademarked Items.
Unfortunately I cannot make cakes with copyrighted images such as Mickey Mouse, Mario, Hello Kitty, Houston Texans and other logos. I wish I could make these types of cakes, but there are laws that prohibit me from doing so. I could be fined, sued and/or shut down if I were to sell these to the general public. There are a few pictures of cakes in my cake gallery with copyrighted images, such as Angry Birds. This cake was made for my son. No money was exchanged in the process, thus making the cake legal. I simply posted this picture so that you can see the level of my expertise in decorating cakes. I can decorate your cake or cupcakes to match a character. Another option for you to consider is purchasing a licensed character for me to place on your cake. Thank you for understanding!
Cake Pop Arrangements.
Cake pops make thoughtful gifts for birthdays, wedding favors, holidays, centerpieces, party favors and get well wishes. The minimum order for cake pops is 12. I charge $2 a pop for basic pops individually wrapped and tied with ribbon.
Cake cake pop arrangements start at $35 for 10 cake pops and container with ribbon and tissue paper. Based on the style of cake pop you order, the price may increase. There is no limit to how many pops you can order in an arrangement. Please view my gallery for some ideas.
Cake Poppers.
These lidded containers hold the equivalent of two frosted and filled mini cupcakes. They are a less-messy way to eat your cake and are perfect for children's parties, party favors and dessert bars. These transport easily and I have some cute ideas for stands/bases to set them in. I offer two container shapes at this time - round and heart-shaped.
The minimum order for Cake Poppers is 10 for $30. Each cake popper will be filled with your choice of cake, buttercream and/or filling. Custom stickers and ribbons are extra. Cupcakes.
Cupcakes are always a favorite at any gathering because they are perfectly portioned and everyone can serve themselves. The minimum order of 12 regular-sized cupcakes or 24 mini cupcakes in your choice of cake and buttercream flavors is available for $24. I can customize the cupcake liners to fit the theme of your event for an extra charge. Specialty cupcakes, fondant-covered, filled cupcakes and die-cut cupcake wrappers are extra as well. So, don't just order plain ol' vanilla! Try a new flavor and treat yourself and your guests to something new! You won't regret it.
